Youth killed as building collapses

A youth met a fatal accident at a construction site when a part of a constructing building collapse on him and also causing severe injuries to another, a short while ago, police said.

The tragic accident was reported from James Peiris Mawatha, Kollupitiya in a site where a building is under construction.

Police said the victim, an 18-year-old boy, was a resident from Meepilimana, Nuwara Eliya. He had been working at the site when he faced the accident and died while been admitted to the National Hospital, Colombo.

The postmortem is to be conducted at the National Hospital, Colombo and the Kollupitiya Police is conducting further investigations.
