Participation of people above 60 years of age in the Gampaha District to get Astra Zeneca vaccine against Covid-19, was very low, State Minister Sudarshani Fernandopulle said.

She made this remarks at a programme held at the Gampaha District Secretariat to review the progress of Covid-19.

It has been revealed that 249,223 people in the district have been vaccinated so far and it was only 40% of the seniors who are 60 years and above.

Not true, inadequate and irregular supply. Turned away twice, runout of vaccines. Now suspended till stocks arrive.
