Chip of the old block. And his old man wants a ministerial portfolio for Puttalam! Our politics is full of such parasites. The saddest part is that our voters still sending such well known thugs from both sides to the parliament.

    Observer Friday, 08 June 2018 04:27 PM

That is true. Our voters firmly believe that this type of ones are the most suitable as their own leaders.

    Saradiel Friday, 08 June 2018 06:56 AM

He should have been arrested soon after the accident. These spoilt sons of politicians should be kept under control.

We could see now how the law enforcement and the justice systems in Sri Lanka are working now. Bet the man will be discharged due to non availability of witnesses or would escape with just a slap on the wrist.

    Gona Friday, 08 June 2018 07:19 AM

Let us hope that this is a step in the right direction not only for ranga bandara’s son but even rumbukwella’s son or sirisena’son.

There is a wide Range of Bandaras, one who is arrested will be released on bail and the case will be no more in the end.

    kamalhot1 Friday, 08 June 2018 07:57 AM

Please take actions against this matter, it will be a good lesson to all the politicians' family members. All the politicians and authorized officers have become our countries common enemy now.

Sword and liquor bottle in the car? There is enough proof to put the guy behind bars for several years unless as usual he is released on bail and the case is never taken up or postponed citing various reasons.

good income source for the lawyers too.

    1) using state property2) driving fast under the influence of liquor 3) carry a sword 4) damaging a private property5) damaging public property 6) petty hearing, begger fine, even though it was son but still I made him face the law statement by father7) case closed 8) it’s Sri Lanka what do u expect!

    Jaliya Friday, 08 June 2018 10:58 AM

You forgot misuse of public property .... If anyone drives through my parapet wall at night and happens to come out of the living room, I consider that's breaking and entering or forceful entry to a private residence. I will make sure that whoever drives in will leave in a cardboard box ... in small pieces... legal matters, worry of later after the memorial service's are over.

Citizen Perera Friday, 08 June 2018 10:54 AM

In this isle of paradise LAW AND ORDER not applicable to politicians and their kith and kin.

Puttalam Booruwa Friday, 08 June 2018 10:54 AM

Wrong again..he did't drive the car..one of his body guards did and is missing for now. The real driver will appear when the court case comes along. The baby donkey was so drunk and was sleeping in the back seat. Only fools build houses alongside main roads..Now take 50,000 and shut up!!

    Citizen Friday, 08 June 2018 11:01 AM

It's not only the son, but the minister and the provincial councillor also should be arrested and charged for using government property. These idiots think that all government property is for their disposal and for the enjoyment of their children. We as voters should know better to elect suitable candidates. Wipe out the entire lot and bring new young qualified members who are given an ultimatum. DO OR GET OUT.

    Lion Friday, 08 June 2018 11:27 AM

Who will pay the repair bill,of course insurance Co has no liability for accidents caused while driving under the influence of liquor. So now Range instead of chasing Ranil has better go to Alosiys who is in remand to get some money.

    kumar Friday, 08 June 2018 02:07 PM

any chance putting the blame on Mahinda,Gota or Namal R.just a thought!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Yeti Friday, 08 June 2018 05:57 PM

The thought must have crossed Ranga's mind but what's father to do when his kid goes berserk?

Jagath Leanage Friday, 08 June 2018 04:31 PM

Hats off to the Honorable Judge who delivered the arrest order. Hope Range Bandara's son will be in remand custody and not in the prison hospital.

    Dhammika Friday, 08 June 2018 05:35 PM

Now RANGA Bandara will act like a RAGANA Bandara .

    Hamban Friday, 08 June 2018 05:55 PM

Arrested and bailed out within hours.....!!!!Such is the treatment the law of this Banana Republic giving to the uneducated, corrupt politicians. Law and the law enforcers are silence or rather slow when it comes to taking action on the misdemeanors of the politicians. This is the truth.

    Sambo Friday, 08 June 2018 08:23 PM
