A 10-month old infant who had been abducted at the Galle Face Green on Tuesday was found in Chilaw last night the following day, Police said.
A 34-year-old man from Kirulapone was arrested in connection with the abduction.
The mother of the child had lodged a complaint with the Fort Police Station after her child had gone missing while they were at the Galle Face Green.
Police started investigating the incident and found the child with the assistance of the Chilaw Police.
The arrested man was to be produced in Court today.

Our police is among the best in the world. They are great detectives. They are not afraid of criminals but, unfortunately they are being lead by the self serving, gutless, elite who readily kiss the back of corrupt politicians to get to the top and stay there.
