In response to a query on the projection of the symbol of a flower considered by the LTTE as the national symbol of its Tamil Eelam, the British High Commission in Colombo brushed off it saying that it was a policing matter.

Karthigaipoo or Niyagala flower was projected on Britain’s Houses of Parliament in Westminster, Central London on November 26 when PRO-LTTE activists commemorated Maveerar Day. Responding to a query raised by Daily Mirror in this regard, the British High Commission sent one-line answer saying it was a policing matter.

“The management of demonstrations, including any involving proscribed organisations is a policing matter,” the High Commission said. (KELUM BANDARA)

Perhaps if you hadn't murdered so many Tamils in this country there wouldn't be so many that have sought protection in the UK. Thankfully you can still protest peacefully there. We appreciate our freedoms and don't live under a dictatorship where people rightfully live in fear like in Sri Lanka.

ISIS has learned many tactics from LTTE, so any country who entertains LTTE may reap what they sow to their detriment.

The British High Commissioner needs to have a more truthful answer. This is not the first time they have bowed down to the pro-LTTE diaspora.Shame on them!

In the same way we tell the world, it is a matter of British citizens and their government.
