The 25 Sri Lankan National players who are currently training under Head Coach, Mickey Arthur and Batting Coach, Grant Flower at the Pallekele Stadium in Kandy, did not have a stern training session yesterday and instead, they were asked to do light training at the gymnasium.
“This is because the players will have two busy days on Tuesday and Wednesday,” an official in charge of the players’ schedule told the Daily Mirror yesterday.
“They will be engaged on match practices on both days and on Tuesday, the two teams will play a 50-over game.”
“On Wednesday afternoon, the players will compete in a T20 practice match. All players who are assembled will participate in both matches,” the official added.
“So far, it has been a successful training programme and the players will leave home on July 2.”
“As of now, we have not yet planned out if there is going to be a third residential training camp,” the source pointed out.
“The players will be asked to follow the guidelines prescribed by the public health department.”
