UNP MP Ranjan Ramanayake had revealed that there were numerous recordings of conversations with current government members in his possession although he has not released them to the public yet, MP Harin Fernando said yesterday.
MP Fernando said this after his visit to meet MP Ramanayake at the Welikada Prison.
Furthermore, he said although only MP Ramanayake’s conversations were released to the public, it did not necessarily mean that he alone should be targeted when addressing these matters of corruption as these were issues that should be addressed in relation to most politicians.
While condemning the invasion of privacy of MP Ramanayake through the release of these recordings, MP Fernando questioned the existence of a law in the country as there was no action against the releasing of the recordings.
In addition, he said the government is giving much publicity to these issues in order to cover up the shameful acts done by them.
