National Freedom Front (NFF) leader Wimal Weerawansa claimed there is audio evidence the opposition had attempted to seek the support of National Freedom Front MP Mohamad Muzamil by offering him a lucrative financial deal.

Speaking to reporters today Weerawansa said that the evidence of attempts by the opposition to “buy” support will be released to the media soon.

Muzamil, who was also present at the briefing, said he will not sell himself to the opposition.

    Friday, 15 January 2010 05:35 PM

This is a real blockbuster and though Daily Mirror readers try their best to whitewash the General, the common public is not going to accept it!

    Friday, 15 January 2010 05:44 PM

The videos clearly showed Muzammil walking up the stairs, turning back suddenly and then rushing to his vehicle, with two of his security men. He did so, absolutely barehanded! I wonder from where he got those bundles of money? Such a FAKE DRAMA! Shame, shame, shame!

    Friday, 15 January 2010 05:48 PM

We have to look at things, without being biased! Many say this is fabricated, but who knows?

    Saturday, 16 January 2010 07:24 AM

Still waiting for the video - we saw Swarnavahini where he vanished emptyhanded.

    Friday, 15 January 2010 06:04 PM

    Nice joke, Wimal!

    Saturday, 16 January 2010 07:29 AM

    Get a life.

    Friday, 15 January 2010 06:15 PM

Can anyone enlighten me on who this Muzamil is? The truth is that voters of this country are not aware of these MPs, from Weerawansa's group. So why would SF want him & for such a huge amount of money? For how many votes? This is a real joke!!! 'Pacha-wansa,' is an expert at fabricating stories. Shame on you 'Gel,' for practicing such low level politics! Please do not think that voters of this country are fools. They are well aware, of what is really going on!

    Friday, 15 January 2010 06:25 PM

WHO IS HE ? WHAT IS HE DOING ? (MEY KAWUDA ? MONAWADA KARANNE ?)

    Friday, 15 January 2010 06:29 PM

WHY WOULD SF WANT TO PAY A POLITICAL 'SPRAT,' WHO HAS NO WORTH AT ALL, AND SEND HIM TO SAFETY, ABROAD? WHAT A JOKE! THIS IS, UNDOUBTEDLY, A FABRICATION!

    Friday, 15 January 2010 07:01 PM

Whoever it is, it's the first time that such a thing has been caught on video tape ... kudos to that! But, then again, I'm sure all members who crossover, during an election do so, in a similar manner ...

    Friday, 15 January 2010 07:04 PM

    No! Not even 10 votes!

    Friday, 15 January 2010 07:24 PM

Hey Wimal: Any thing you can do, I can do better; I can do anything better than you ...

    Friday, 15 January 2010 08:02 PM

Please keep track of this massive amount of money! Anti-Bribery officials, CID officers, Inland Revenue officers, etc., please take action, without delay, and without any political interference! Please disclose the truth, to the public! If you do not, do we may all think this a hoax!

    Saturday, 16 January 2010 08:10 AM

100 thousand rupees for three wheel party member? Wimal, what`s your next tele drama `pawadeema`. Shame!! Who believe you ?

    Friday, 15 January 2010 08:50 PM

Who will spend millions of rupees to buy an unknown, unpopular MP, from a party like the NFF? Will Sri Lankans believe this?

    Friday, 15 January 2010 09:05 PM

"Mr. Muzamil" ? ? ? Which planet did he turn-up from ? Must be a Martian, to be worth such millions!

    Saturday, 16 January 2010 08:47 AM

apparently all these English reading dudes do not understand the ground reality of the day. Fonseka has got 10days to get in to oblivion. Probably fonnie wants somebody now to stop NFF attacks on him regarding dirty money, nepotism, and many other mis-deeds. This NFF fellow was too smart for him. Anyway, people will have to decide on the candidate who has the capacity to deliver the goods to the country and not someone who is a prisoner of a rainbow of political parties.

    Saturday, 16 January 2010 08:48 AM

I have funded SFin a small way. I am no INGOs or Western power. I am a University Lecturer (overseas) and have been a socialist for the past 40+ years. There are millions like me who are working and hoping for a revolutionary change for our motherland - free of all corruption and full of sincere hard work.

    Saturday, 16 January 2010 08:50 AM

    In exchange for?

    Sunday, 17 January 2010 02:24 AM

Why does Mahinda provides minister posts to the cross oers? A 'Minister post' is a life time big treasury. But this will be only a one time small amount.

    Sunday, 17 January 2010 02:26 AM

No need to do any wash on the common candidate, since he is pure everyday.

But I'll vote for MR if you white wash him today.

    Sunday, 17 January 2010 02:28 AM

Then why did NFF leader itself did not face the debate with Daayasiri at Swarnavahini Rqthu Ira?

    Saturday, 16 January 2010 09:01 AM

Uru-wansa's dirty mud Poli-tricks.... Get a life dude!!!! we are not dumb as u think......

    Sunday, 17 January 2010 02:31 AM

    Dear Kithsiri,

Let's see how the ruling leader talks today. He started in a well deciplined manner, but unfortunately we caoont see it today. The followers of the curent leader is worst... if you need, I can givefew excellent exmaples.
Anyway, It should be SF who can build a polited society again in this country.

    Saturday, 16 January 2010 09:07 AM

    Dear SF followers,

It is obvious that this incident will hurt you. But you have to wake up for the sake of our country. SF doesn't know at least how to speak politely. There are simmilar action of of his followers.

Try to comment politely. Don't show your stupidness to others.

    Sunday, 17 January 2010 03:08 AM

    so what about you?
    mahindha bought you from JVP..
    isnt it?

    Saturday, 16 January 2010 09:08 AM

in other news, SF has also paid 2 Godzillion rupees to the tooth fairy and ten trillion for the invisible pink unicorn to cross over... geesh man get a life!

    Saturday, 16 January 2010 09:10 AM

is it becoz the common public has no common sense anymore? I think not, I still believe that our common public will come to their senses on the 27th and bring forth the only solution to idiotic politics

    Sunday, 17 January 2010 03:38 AM

Its really sad to see that Srilankan politicians doing scams like this. If this is true, why cant they take SF or the person who handed out money to courts or the bribery commission? These type of things clearly indicate what the government is capable of. They know that they can do any B.S and get away with it. I urge the public to Vote wisely on the 26th and say no to CORRUPTION.

    Saturday, 16 January 2010 09:23 AM

They do not seem to believe in their own words when they are tossing around in glee the very evidence of the crime they allege to have happened . !

    Sunday, 17 January 2010 04:22 AM

We don't have to take Weerawangsa as a man with integrity. Going by his standard of betrayal calling General as a traitor, he must call himself as the biggest traitor as he had betrayed his party and had been the principal cause for the split in the party just to remain in the government. Shameless soul.

    Saturday, 16 January 2010 09:39 AM

    Weerawansa's Day Dreams.

    Saturday, 16 January 2010 09:43 AM

    Saturday, 16 January 2010 10:30 AM

I thought it was number one UNPer and got confused this Muzammil might be a national list MP filled by JVP with the bonanza given to them after winning the alliance in 2004 just to please or woo the Muslim minority. The offer is really true might be for the strange coincidence of name they would have wanted to coverup some deal or to show that JVP is stronger after the vertical split. Horse trading and 'mare' trading continues...once the news first was full of 'mare' trading on JVP politicians day and night, laugh out loud!

    Friday, 15 January 2010 10:26 AM

Mr. W. Weerawnsa. I think you have any idea about politics. All Sri Lankans are want democracy, law and order.

    Friday, 15 January 2010 10:26 AM

UNP buys SLFP members, there's no doubt about that? But NFF members?? c'mon man get real

    Friday, 15 January 2010 10:28 AM

Who is muzammil? my god in this country so many ministers anyway who care s about politics we need a good leader who ever it is, may god bless sri lanka

    Friday, 15 January 2010 10:29 AM

or a cabinet post after the election like what the present Govt. did and do!

    Friday, 15 January 2010 10:29 AM

Hah! Hah! Gel Wimal, are jealous? You were also bought over by MR in a similar manner.

    Friday, 15 January 2010 10:30 AM

Why don't you sell yourself? May be you can go on another trip to Disneyland with that money.

    Friday, 15 January 2010 10:32 AM

You people do the same mister..... how much you got payed for yelling??

    Friday, 15 January 2010 10:40 AM

Weerawansha, we have no faith in you. You are a person with low qualities..

    Friday, 15 January 2010 10:43 AM

    Poor Wimal.
Please do not play jokes, it is enough.

Now people have identified the true leader for the next Presindentship. We are seeing marks on this trend today.

    No one can stop it.

    Friday, 15 January 2010 10:43 AM

Who is Mohamed Muzamil, first time I heard that name? What is the benefit of buying little known politician? This is a planted story by that Wansa. Remember, people are more educated than you. Don't come to fool us.

    Friday, 15 January 2010 10:43 AM

Can someone enlighten us who Mr. Muzamil is? An MP?

    Friday, 15 January 2010 10:44 AM

Hey Guys, The SF clan will loose face when the video is released to the media.

The real drama is yet to begin. Mervyn's prediction on SF going bankrupt after 15th becoming a reality.

    Friday, 15 January 2010 10:44 AM

please provide the evidence first and then talk seeing is beleiving and also wimal u are a good exampl for the proverb barking dogs dont bite so please stop shouting for lies at gatherings

    Friday, 15 January 2010 10:44 AM

Can someone enlighten us as to who Mr. Muzamil is?

    Friday, 15 January 2010 10:46 AM

Who is going to buy two MP's who cant even get a 1000 votes. These are all ....wansa's politicks. wait till the 27th

    Friday, 15 January 2010 10:47 AM

Gelmal , this is not new , You know , I know , & the world knows. Jonny , SB . Indika did the same thing, You and your golayas also did the same thing. so just shutup and start your barking at the hill.

    Friday, 15 January 2010 10:47 AM

    What about Sigiriya?

    Friday, 15 January 2010 10:49 AM

Muzamil who ? Why should SF or UNP want him - only one or two votes. Another one of your fantasies. Even if the whole NFF comes it will not amount to much. What was the offer in hundreds or thousands ?

    Friday, 15 January 2010 10:50 AM

Muzzmmil was offered 30 million...for what. He cant even get 30 vote from a General Public. If this was claimed to some one like Fowzie, Alavi moulana can except up tp some extent.

    Friday, 15 January 2010 10:50 AM

We know who is buying whom, Who is this Muzamil? I don't think that SF will waste a single cent to buy this unkown. This is all drama. You better quit politics and start producing tele-drama and films.

    Friday, 15 January 2010 10:55 AM

Fonseka is funded by INGOs and West.
He has money, but not votes.
That is why they wanted bo buy votes.
In fact Fonseka has sold soverinity of srilanka to TNA.
But majority srilankans will not sell votes at this decisive juncture.
Result by 27th Jan will clearly send strong signal to West and pro-west group what true srilankans wanted.

    Friday, 15 January 2010 10:56 AM

Weerawansa's claim is a real joke as Mohamad Muzamil comes to General SF office to support him and if so why do General SF needs to pay money to canvas for support ???????

This could be either a plant or Mohamed Muzamil expected money when he came to declare his support.

    Friday, 15 January 2010 10:57 AM

It is revealed that Fonseka has paid 200 million ruppes to MP Segu Issadeen to cross over to his camp.
    Good biz eh..

    Friday, 15 January 2010 10:57 AM

who is this person? and why would ANYONE pay such a large sum of money just to get this guy's support?? what can SF and the opposition possibly achieve from a nobody like this! they already have rauf hakeem's and the TNA's support! what a load of tosh! come on get real man! what a bunch of losers !

    Friday, 15 January 2010 10:58 AM

    MR.weerawansa
for god sake pack your stuff and get ready to retire from politics- iregardless whethet this is true or fake it's will not matter the people to decide for whom thay vote- how did SB,jonston,Azad Sali etc join the government -

    Friday, 15 January 2010 11:01 AM

Musammil? Who is he, we don't know. Can you tell us how much you were paid to get into UPFA, and how much Nandana was paid to get him from NFF to UPFA.
    Loud of laugh.

    Friday, 15 January 2010 11:01 AM

Common mate, Wimal, get real. When ever you talk I only hear a dog barking.

    Friday, 15 January 2010 11:01 AM

    Wimal Weerawansas experience speaks.

    Friday, 15 January 2010 11:02 AM

Wimal is the least person who could talk on this subject. what then about the meals for thousands and thousands at Temple Trees (you can see the line of buses parked behind Temple Trees in the Gangaramaya - Beira Laka-Perera Road areas) where people are provided with T-Shirts and taken photographs with their t-Shirts on??

    Friday, 15 January 2010 11:04 AM

Its sad that some people actually believe the ridiculous rumors the government is circulating.

    Friday, 15 January 2010 11:05 AM

haha..good job wimal.let them realize that true patriots cannot be priced. SF might have planned to get 3-4 Muslims to there side and keep a press conference.
What ever said and done SF will get a chance to use his green card after the 26th.

    Friday, 15 January 2010 11:06 AM

Did those loudmouthed frogs who jumped to MR's side do so for love?

    Friday, 15 January 2010 03:32 PM

No sane man will offer millions, for Muzamil!

    Monday, 18 January 2010 08:19 AM

I think Muzamil would have had a dream of been paid to switch over.

    Friday, 15 January 2010 11:08 AM

W.W is trying his best please his Master .

    Friday, 15 January 2010 11:09 AM

Great anaysis my friend! Where is that word "conspiracy", which is being "prostitutonized" these days ?? You MUST use that word in your comment to make it juicier. Anyway, you are in a "beautiful dreamworld" of your own & your leaders are around you. Please wake up to a shock on the 27th.

    Friday, 15 January 2010 11:10 AM

Mr. Wnsa, If you got the audio evidence why not lease in the media briefing rather than announcing the “soon release”. You need time to cook it? Please don’t under estimate Sri Lankan’s intellectual capacity to this low level. We know who was bought by whom. stop the buying of “artist” and “sports stars” who disgrace the field they belongs to.

    Friday, 15 January 2010 11:15 AM

    Hey Prabath....
Are you living in this world ? ...... or Weerawansa's World ?....

    Friday, 15 January 2010 03:47 PM

Don't try to fool the people because, finally, you will get fooled!

    Friday, 15 January 2010 11:30 AM

Poorly cooked up story by WW. Trying his best to get undue prominence. When one said 'USA', WW was whispering no no 'Norway' in that media brief. The video is cooked up to deceive the masses. Just one BIG laughing stock. Dance till the 26th Wimal the chameleon.

    Friday, 15 January 2010 11:33 AM

    Gel A life Prabath!!!!!!!!!!!

    Friday, 15 January 2010 04:14 PM

    Look in the mirror!

    Friday, 15 January 2010 11:38 AM

Wimal, this allegation does not make any sense. If you want to throw mud, make the story more credible so you won't look foolish. Why don't you start talking about policies of MR and how they differ from SF's rather than raking up this rubbish and throwing mud at the Opponent? Are you capable of doing that? I doubt it. Unfortunately you are one of those foull mouthed politicians.
