Low pressure condition intensifies –Met Dept

The Met Department today said that the low pressure area in the Central Bay of Bengal has intensified in to a depression and located about 600km to the East of Jaffna today.

Fishermen are advised not to venture into the sea from Jaffna to Batticaloa and also requested to be vigilant about the strong winds, rainy weather and rough seas in the eastern, northeastern and northern deep sea areas, it said.

It also said that there will be showers or thundershowers at times in the Eastern, Northern and North central provinces. Thundershowers will develop at several places elsewhere during the afternoon or evening.”

There may be temporary localized fairly strong winds during thundershowers. General public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize the damages, the department added.

Aiyo Aiyo, If met dept says heacy rains, then the weather will be bright sun shine. We lost the T20 finals cos of met dept. Mahela believed the met dept predictions and thought heavy thunder showers wud effect before he played a silly shot.

Good. There will be clear weather. No need to carry an umbrella. If I was the head of the MET, I would consider going to work without my clothes.
