A Dutch tourist who fell off the World’s End in Nuwara Eliya was rescued this morning, Air Force Spokesman said.

He said a helicopter was deployed at the scene to airlift the tourist to the Nuwara Eliya Base Hospital.

The victim had survived as he had been reportedly hanging off a cliff at the time he was rescued.

Initial police investigation revealed that the Dutch national on honeymoon tour in Sri Lanka with his newly-wedded wife, accidentally fell off from the World’s End in Horton Plains while on tour in the area.
Corporal Sudesh Nalinda of the Army went down along the precipice with the help of a rope, and managed to remove and lift the victim from the deep bottom while hanging on to the rope which was supported by the troops outside the cliff at the Horton Plains, the army said.
As a result, the life of Mr. Mathalin (35) was saved and he was carried on shoulders of the troops and was admitted to the Nuwara Eliya Base Hospital. His wife, Linda (31), who is a social worker in the Netherlands accompanied him to the hospital.

Hospital sources confirmed the victim is in critical condition but all attempts are being made to save his life.

"even if a foreigner"! You suggest that foreign lives are less valuable than Sri Lankan lives? Probably not, but that is what one can infer from your words.
