UNP Leader Ranil Wickremesinghe today pledged to grant a package of concessions to people if his party was elected to office at the August Parliamentary Election.

Speaking during an election rally in Athurugiriya Mr Wickremesinghe pledged to introduce a system under which he said people would be allowed to pay utility bills in installments.

"The present government which initially said the people will be given a grace period to pay their water and electricity bills have now asked the people to pay bills of three months at once. However, a UNP government will allow the payment of these bills in 12 installments," he said.

Also he pledged to give a grace period of one year to pay back loans especially that of SMEs. He pledged to re start Enterprise Sri Lanka Programme if he elected to office on August 5.(Yohan Perera)

i am sure even he knows he sounds half hearted. Just please hand over to Karu and leave. At least learn one thing from the Queen of England's mistakes. She also does not know when to call it quits and retire in dignity.

The people have seen what you and your gang has done for the people. If you have any shame don't talk of what your party did in the last five years. You are only putting the last nail in the coffin.

I really hope nobody including Mrs. Maithri Wickramasinghe will vote for you. Please retire. Sajith will never be a great leader but he is the most popular opposition candidate. So let him get the chance this time.
