Several special police teams had been deployed to arrest the Kurunegala Mayor and others who were issued arrest warrant, Police Spokesman Jaliya Senaratna said today.
He said that special operations are underway by several police teams, under the direction of Senior DIG of North West to arrest and produce them before the next court date, August 13.
The Spokesman said the suspects were not found at their usual places of residence.
The Kurunegala Magistrate yesterday re-issued the warrants on the suspects through the Acting IGP, DIG and SP Kurunegala due to the failure by the Kurunegala Police to execute previously issued warrants. (Darshana Sanjeewa Balasuriya)

Well, well and well. This has now become a standard operating procedure. No balls to face reality but go into hiding. No need to look far. Just visit the home of Johnston Fernando any the Police can find him there.
