Former Co-Cabinet Spokesman and Minister Dr. Ramesh Pathirana topped in preferential votes in Galle District with 205,814 votes.
The seven seats secured by the SLPP in Galle District included Dr. Pathirana, Sampath Athukorala (128,331), Mohan Priyadarshana Silva (111,626), Chandima Weerakkodi (84,984), Isuru Dodangoda (71,266), Shan Wijelal De Silva (67,793) and Geetha Kumarasinghe (63,357).
Meanwhile, Gayantha Karunathilake who contested from the SJB secured votes 50,097 while Manusha Nanayakkara got 47,399 votes.
