Man arrested for promoting LTTE leader Prabhakaran on Tik Tok

A 25-year old man was arrested by the Terrorism Investigation Division (TID) for promoting pictures and videos of terrorism and LTTE Leader V. Prabhakaran on 'Tik Tok' social media.

Police Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana said that the suspect who is resident of Vavuniya was arrested in Wattala area.

"Promoting terrorists or extremists activities is an offense and the suspect was arrested under the Prevention of Terrorism Act," he said.

He said the suspect would be detained for further questioning.

The spokesman urged the public not to share any news, video or pictures related to terrorism or extremism on social media or ciber space. He said action would be taken them.(DSB)
