The Government informed Parliament today that it had decided to amend the Judicature Bill as advised by the Supreme Court.
Leader of the House Lakshman Kiriella informed this to the House this morning.
He said amendments would be made in accordance with the determination given by the Supreme Court.
The Bill was to be taken up for debate today but it was postponed on a Government decision.
The Supreme Court held that the Bill had to be passed with a two-thirds majority if certain sections were not amended. (Yohan Perera and Ajith Siriwadana)
