A special operation will be launched today to monitor public movements in the isolated areas using drone cameras, Police Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana said.
He said high-tech drones of the Sri Lanka Air Force will be used in this regard especially in Colombo and Gampaha.
He said at a press briefing that monitoring public movements will continue until the restrictions in isolated areas is lifted.
He said information has been received that people in isolated areas are not staying in their homes despite travel restrictions are being imposed.
DIG Rohana stated that special security teams, STF and Police will be deployed to arrest the suspects based on information obtained by drones.(Darshana Sanjeewa Balasuriya)
