The owner of a building material shop near Waidya Road in Dehiwala was stabbed to death by a man who broke into the shop last afternoon, police said.
63-year-old Abdul Mohammed Hafeez had partly shut the doors to perform his afternoon prayers and then have his lunch when the man forcibly entered the shop and stabbed the owner.
One of the bystanders had rushed him to the Colombo South Teaching Hospital but he was found dead on admission.
The victim was a father of three and a resident of Ebrahim Place in Nedimala.
It was reported that the alleged killer had fled towards Dehiwala along the Galle Road carrying the knife in his hand.
Police personnel from the Dehiwala Police are investigating the crime have obtained CCTV camera footage from the establishments in the vicinity. (H.M. Dharmapala)

It is not communel attacked but criminels by forcely asking money. Local low enforcement authorities such as Juducial, Police should have peevent this type of crime. Really unfortunate. This type of criminel activities happened in era of 90s. When we inform these type we fall in trouble and we have to fight with criminels.
