Police curfew had been imposed in Kuliyapitiya, Narammala, Pannala, Giriulla and Dummalasooriya police areas with immediate affect until further notice to contain spread of COVID-19, Police Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana said.
He said public transport services are allowed to operate through the areas where curfew has been imposed. However, no vehicles are permitted to either pick up or drop passengers in the curfew imposed areas.
Meanwhile, DIG Rohana said those who are already outside the said areas would be permitted to rerun to their residencies.
Students who are sitting for Advanced Level examinations are also permitted to travel.
