The three-member committee which was appointed to receive complaints on Tuesday (4) against former Western Province Governor Azath Salley, former Eastern Province Governor M.L.A.M. Hizbullah and former Minister Rishad Bathiudeen, had received only one complaint as at yesterday, the police said.
Police Spokesman SP Ruwan Gunasekera said the complaint was lodged against MP Rishad Bathiudeen the All Island Canteen Owners' Association Chairman (AICOA) Asela Sampath.
Sampath said he lodged the complained against MP Bathiudeen for mistreating the Sinhalese businessmen through the Consumer Affairs Authority (CAA) which was under the purview of Industry and Commerce Ministry when he was the subject minister.
He also alleged that Bathiudeen was distributing food commodities through Sathosa, which were unfit for human consumption. The committee was appointed on Tuesday and police said that committee would entertain only written complaints.
Public can lodge complaints with the committee, which is located at the Police Headquarters until June 12 between 8.00 am and 4.00 pm. (Darshana Sanjeewa Balasuriya)

WHAT !! Only one complaint? What about the string of complaints the SLPP goons claimed to have? Even this complaint has nothing to do with helping extremists.

Why don't the Opposition MPs behind the no confidence motion against Badhurdeen give their complaints in writing for proper investigation. If not they would turn out to be false.

How can Sampath state that the CWE had supplied poor quality food items only to the Sinhalese businessmen? Isn't he a racist?

Unless "fake news", media has mentioned Wilpattu housing for displaced persons, requests to army commander to release terror suspect, Sharia University with financial implications, to name a few. Yet no complaints??

The investigating aurhorities should not place the responsibility in the hands of the people. Investigating unquestioning those who accused the ministers and facts available in the media is their duty. Find evidence.
