The Cabinet, has approved a proposal to appoint a Rehabilitation Facilitation Officer for the north and east, in order to strengthen the rehabilitation programs in these provinces among the war affected.
As a result, Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa's Coordinating Secretary, Geethanath Kassilingam will be appointed as the government's special Rehabilitation Facilitation Officer for the north and east after the Cabinet approved the proposal.
Kassilingam's new role will now be to facilitate and look into the several issues faced by the people in the north and east as well as resolve the longstanding issues.

Where did he come from? Had the government decided it is no use with the MP's from north and east who supports them? First of all the government should try to understand the feelings of the people living in those areas. Without findings the cause no medicine will cure the illness.
