Parliament went into an uproar yesterday when two opposition MPs questioned whether the new COVID-19 cluster has emerged from a few Indians attached to Brandix Ltd who had come into the country without being tested.
The question was raised by SJB MPs Harsha de Silva and Manusha Nanayakkara in the House. MP Nanayakkara, who raised the issue initially, said the security chief of Brandix had got the Indian nationals out of the airport without being tested for COVID-19.
Dr. de Silva said the matter had to be looked into and scoffed if it is a false claim. "Brandix is a company which play an important role when it comes to Sri Lanka's economy. Therefore it is not good to tarnish the image of such a company," he said.
Minister of Trade Bandula Gunawardene who responded said "the Opposition MPs should act in a responsible manner and should not utter company names in vein. The government has not blamed the company in any way" he said. (Yohan Perera and Ajith Siriwardana)

Brandix should be held responsible for this second wave of pandemic. There is more than enough evidence to prove that it got down 60 Indians for an order with a deadline although it states otherwise. This order also should be cancelled as it could carry the virus in the garments.

I'm convinced that no Big Boss from India would ever have a secret and forbidden affair with a beautiful lady employee in Sri Lanka and if so they both would happily report it immediately to the authorities sacrificing their careers and private life for the higher good of the country which sure would refrain from moral judgement.

To all those who blame Brandix for getting down Indians to meet their deadlines, without following Covid 19 protocols and who say they have strong evidence, should produce the evidence as this is serious.

Its easy to lie to people, than to convince them that they have been lied. Wonder of Asia.
