As the world of sports is in complete shock over the ball-tampering fiasco in Cape Town, Sri Lanka Rugby has involved in what could be best described as letter-tampering.

The Ministry of Sports has received a written document under a letterhead of Sri Lanka Rugby stating of a new national selection committee though without the signature of any SLR officials.

None of the SLR office bearers have come forward to take the responsibility to this, though Steven Smith was the first person to admit what the Australian's did.

However, in an interview with Daily Mirror. SLR secretary Nazim Mohamed stated that the parent of body country's rugby will hold an inquiry over the shocking letter.

"A letter has been sent to the Ministry (Sports) about appointing some new national selectors. A decision of this nature could only be taken after a ExCo meeting and I can assure that none of this has been discussed in any recent meeting. We are planning to carry out an inquiry on this within next week," the former Sri Lanka rugby star stated.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Sports has requested for a ten-man shortlist for the national selectors.

"We have been ask to suggest ten candidates for the national selection committee and what we are planning to do is to send the details of the five current selectors and five more," the secretary revealed.
