People know who the real thieves are: MS

2018-01-10 22:10:58

President Maithripala Sirisena said today even though two factions accused in Parliament each other of being thieves, people know who the real thieves were.

“Just as a pick-pocket calls out “there is a thief, there is a thief” while he is snatching someone’s purse, two factions in Parliament today accused each other of being thieves. But people know who the real thieves are,” the President said addressing a rally in Anuradhapura.

President should have taken the steps he is taking now when he took over office in 2015. "Better later than never". If HE is serious in eradicating corruption, he has nothing to fear. The nation loving people of this country will will surely back him for the second term in office.

It is clear that a major scam took place under MS/RW governance but glad the findings were made public and action against the perpetrators is definite. However during the earlier regime, thuggery, corruption, criminality was the order of the day and was swept denied and supported by the leaders of that time.

They are rulers and they can do anything, they will accuse each other today and will be friends next day. We are the pubic who finally deceived. Our country will not develop till this uneducated and unprofessional political ethics would exist. People must be chosen the good politicians over their speaking ability. The main problem of developing countries like us is we do not understand the theory of Actions speak louder than words.

Yes, a majority of the populace knows who the thieves are except for the fools who blindly follow there political masters for their own benefit. The majority who knows who thieves are is powerless to do anything. That's the pathetic situation of this country.

Don't forget that you appointed the Commission of Inquiry because of public demand. You are also partly to blame for dissolving the parliament before DEW could submit the COPE report. Most Sri Lankans are disgusted with all the politicians, including yourself, for not taking prompt action against the crooks.
