Avishka Madonza of Sri Lanka Ports Authority (SLPA) stole the limelight during the third-stage of the SLT Speedup Cycling Sawariya which was worked off from Balangoda to Mahiyangana on Thursday (6).
Madonza returned a time of three hours 34.34 seconds and finished ahead of Gihan Puspakumara of Army (3.34.38s) and Prabath Madusanka of Navy (3.34.39s) who were placed second and third respectively.
The riders proceeded through Haputale, Bandarawela, Badulla, Meegahakiwula, Loggal Oya and reached Mahiyangana before 12.45 pm covering a distance of 161km.
Tomorrow (7) fourth-stage will be worked off in two stages.
The first-stage will be from Mahiyangana to Dambulla commencing at 8.30 a.m. and the second-stage will be from Dambulla to Trincomalee commencing at 3.00 p.m.
