Arrest warrant issued on Arjuna Mahendran

Colombo Fort Magistrate Lanka Jayaratne today issued an arrest warrant on former Central Bank Governor Arjuna Mahendran as he failed to turn up to the CID inquiry over the controversial Central Bank Bond Issuance. (Shehan Chamika Silva)

    This country doesn’t run kankaroo courts. Every legal step needs to be done to conform to the international law I this case. I believe the SL judiciary and govt are doing what they can do.

    WHY? Abscond if he is innocent. Surely he must be GUILTY LIKE HELL.Who is asking him to abscond? He was appointed by the PM, even when the President had his reservations.Hence it is the PM's bounded duty by the citizens of this country to ensure that AM, returns and faces trial.Surely with the "Yahapalanaya" government in power, he would be given a fair trial. Wouldn't he?
