The Beach Boutique, located in Pamunugama, recently reopened its doors after a multi-million rupee refurbishment.

The property was built in 2003 and was designed by renowned architect Channa Daswatte of Geoffrey Bawa fame. The hotel was officially reopened with a ribbon-cutting ceremony which included chief guest Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau (SLTPB) Chairman Dr. Rohantha Athukorala and guest of honour MICD Associates Partner Channa Daswatte. Also present at the event were the senior management of The Beach Boutique, members of the travel fraternity and an exclusive gathering of guests.

The Beach Boutique and Victoria Group of Companies Chairman Deepthi Jayamaha delivered the welcome address and The Beach Boutique Managing Director Nilika Jayamaha presented the winner of the raffle draw with a gift voucher for a complimentary stay at the hotel.

The official Beach Boutique website (www.beachboutique.lk) was also launched by Athukorala, who then delivered the keynote address, which was followed by a speech by Daswatte.

Commenting on the hotel’s launch, Athukorala stated, “Hotels like The Beach Boutique play an important role in servicing up-market international tourists and local guests. At present, the SLTPB is preparing to make the necessary strategic decisions and investments needed to take Sri Lanka forward as a tourism destination.

We have enlisted the help of seven of the most prestigious advertising agencies in the world to help us to fulfil this endeavour and build the Sri Lanka Tourism brand. I hope that our efforts will yield a high return on investment that will benefit the entire tourism trade, including hotels like The Beach Boutique, which have a unique and well-differentiated offering.”

Following the significant investment that was made to upgrade the property, The Beach Boutique is now geared to support Sri Lanka’s rapid tourism growth and will help service up-market tourists and local guests alike.
