A person died when he was knocked down by the Batticaloa-bound train in the Kekirawa area on Saturday. The railway guard has made arrangements to take the body in the train and hand over to Kekirawa Railway station as per the procedural requirement. The magisterial inquiry was held by the Kekirawa Acting Magistrate Anuruddha Wijeratna on Saturday evening. The Acting Magistrate ordered the police to send the body to Anuradhapura General Hospital for autopsy.
The deceased was identified as Sunil Jayatissa, 37, a resident of Maminiya Rambewa in Kekirawa,. He was a father of three children, according to the Kekirawa Police.
Kekirawa Police are carrying out further investigations .
