The Colombo District Court today refused to issue an injunction order on the decision of the United National Party (UNP) to suspend the memberships of 99 party members.
The order was delivered by Colombo District Court Judge Amali Ranaweera after considering the petition filed by former parliamentarian Ranjith Madduma Bandara.
General Secretary of Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) Ranjith Madduma Bandara filed the petition seeking for an injunction preventing the UNP from suspending the party membership of 99 members based on contesting the next general election under the SJB. (Yoshitha Perera)

Whatever said and done law and order must be maintained at any cost. Immaterial of any political party states if someone violate its constitution sacking should be the only option and not suspension only.
