The Podujana Private Bus Operators' Association (PPBOA) today said they were in discussion with the government not to abolish the Semi Luxury bus service suggesting it to operate on long-distance night services.
Addressing a media conference today, PPBOA President Sampath Rajitha said the Association had decided to provide luxury bus services more efficiently to facilitate the passengers from next year.
“The people always request a luxury bus service and discussions are in progress with the government to implement the service within the cities,” Mr Rajitha said.
He said that the semi-luxury bus service would be possible to operate on more than 200-kilometre distance travel, to minimise its cost.
“The Super Luxury bus service should not be abolished because it attracts more passengers while providing service at nights,” he added. (Chaturanga Samarawickrama)

These are just empty promises. Scrap this dastardly service altogether. It is just another ploy to fleece the people.

" operate on long-distance night services", This may be a real reason for owners. But our government will order to keep all the semi buses for another year. Thats how our policies are made.

Atleast they are appealing now instead of striking.

Bunch of nonsense. The only 'facility' they provide for the extra price is a bunch of curtains. Have it normal and luxury (A/C). That's more than enough.
