Celebrating the BitMasters’ win at Microsoft Imagine Cup World Finals 2016, the team was congratulated by Telecommunication and Digital Infrastructure Ministry Secretary Wasantha Deshapriya at a small gathering at the Microsoft Sri Lanka office in the presence of the senior officials from the Engineering Faculty of the University of Moratuwa.
“Firstly I congratulate the team for their hard work and perseverance in accomplishing their goal to not just participate, but be placed at Imagine Cup World Finals 2016. This achievement is not just a win for you but for Sri Lanka as a whole. It is important for students to break through economic barriers to create change and focus on innovating solutions that can be used to make lives better. This is one way that we can contribute to the development of our nation. The device you have created is a commercially viable product and has much potential. I hope you continue on this journey of innovation in the years to come,” said Deshapriya.
