The Foreign Relations Ministry has extended the validity period of all types of visas by 30 days till June 11 for foreigners residing in Sri Lanka, an official of the ministry said.
Accordingly, all applicants are advised to pay the relevant visa fee by securing an appointment via eservices.immigration.gov.lkon or before June 11.
“All visas that expire between March 7 and June 11 will be exempted from the charge of overstay penalty. Only those who possess due appointment notice will be permitted to enter the department. A limited number of appointments will be given per day and the applicants shall be present at the department 15 minutes prior to the appointment. If an applicant fails to arrive at the given time, the appointment will be invalided after 10 minutes. In such circumstances, the applicant must obtain a fresh appointment. If curfew is in force on the day of the appointment, drop an email to the below addresses attached with the appointment notice:
acvisa@immigration.gov.lk; acvisa1@immigration.gov.lk; acvisa2@immigration.gov.lk. For residence visa: dcvisa@immigration.gov.lk
If foreigners leave Sri Lanka during this period, their journey will be facilitated by paying the relevant visa fee at BIA.
