The transfer of 13 senior police officers, including two Senior DIGs by the National Police Commission (NPC) has been suspended because of the ongoing investigations by a presidential commission into Easter Sunday’s attacks.
The NPC had earlier decided to transfer two Senior DIGs, four DIGs, two SSPs and five SPs based on service requirements but the transfers had been put on hold due to the prevailing situation in the country.
Those to be transferred were: SDIG J. Abeysirigunawardene, SDIG Nandana Munasinghe, Colombo DIG L.S Pathinayake, DIG W.L.A.S. Priyantha Weerasuriya, DIG T.M.W. D. Deshabandu, DIG V.P.C.A.
