SF rubbishes Karuna’s claim of killing 3000 Soldiers

• Only managed to kill a few hundreds who surrendered

Karun Amman’s claim of killing 3000 soldiers in Mullaitivu is an exaggeration made by him but one cannot condone the higher ups of this government taking photos with him, Field Marshal Sarath Fonseka said on Monday.    

“ Karuna never killed 3000 soldiers in Mullaitivu but managed to kill a few hundreds who surrendered. It is the same with Elephant pass where he killed hundreds of policemen who surrendered to the LTTE in 1990,” The Field Marshal said at a public meeting.   

He also said neither the people in this country or the UNPers gained any benefit from the government formed by former Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe in 2015. We were unable to provide employment to any of the supporters. This is why we decided to back Sajith Premadasa,” he said.   

Speaking further the Field Marshal said President Gotabaya Rajapaksa will become powerless after the election as Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa will take control of the government. “ The Prime Minister will have more power as per the constitution,” he said.
