Police Spokesman Ruwan Gunasekara said yesterday that peace had been restored in the entire country and warned that stern action would be taken against anyone who sabotaged the calm environment that now prevailed.
He said stern actions would also be taken against those who post hate messages via social media.
“A special unit has been set up at Police Headquarters which is monitoring website posts,” SP Gunasekera said. Any hate speech will be forwarded to the CID for further investigations.”
Meanwhile, he said two residents of Kapugollewa suspected of having links with a terrorist group, were arrested on Thursday.
