Maiden trip

The Indian power set train of Class S11 consists of modern facilities made its maiden trip from Galle to Matara last morning. Minister of Transport Kumara Welgama, Indian High Commissioner Ashok Sri Kanth and several distinguished invitees join the trip. The train with six compartments has seating capacity for 72 second class passengers and 90 third class passengers. A senior official of the Railways Department said three trains of this model had been imported and orders are placed for 17 more. Pix by By Krishan Jeewaka Jayaruk

    thats a common phenomena in most of the countries...
    after all, its still better seeing some public work happening even with somebody pocketing something out of it(its bad and I accept it)...
    but thats the sad truth we have to understand and live with it..

    some time back, we had no work happening but all the money went to the pockets of politicians...irrespective of the party...
