There are far too many fatal accidents in Sri Lanka. This is nothing new. What is needed is to get to the root cause. The root cause is the corruption of the place where the driving license are issued. This is an open secrete. This can be clearly seen by the way the motorist ( I am referring to the motor cycles, three wheelers, van, buses and also the motor cars which includes the so called gentlemen in tie) use the road. Just visit Singapore and have a look.

The Police should be held responsible since they only try to fine people not to correct people.

There is much more than that. In Singapore the law is enforced - here the Police look on at minor faults and the motorists do more and more. Even the Police never stick rigidly to rules. Belching vehicles are seen including of the Police and state services with no action. A police buscollecting officers on duty is the only vehicle sounding a loud horn down our residential road morning and evening..
