All the road blocks are to prevent the ordinary citizens from attending.

Stay at home or stay over-night in office cos almost half of colombo roads are closed!!. Choke colombo and criple economy... this is how we celebrate winning a 30 year terrorist war. No one would be more happy than LTTE leader himself to see how naive we really are!!!

    Wednesday, 16 June 2010 08:08 PM

No point going ... the real "hero" will not be there!

    Wednesday, 16 June 2010 06:36 PM

    Wednesday, 16 June 2010 06:24 PM

For whom to see is this 'V-day' with all the roads being closed?

    Wednesday, 16 June 2010 05:08 PM

    Wednesday, 16 June 2010 05:06 PM

Spend, spend, spend, for anything that might help to build-up our ego!

    Wednesday, 16 June 2010 12:56 PM

Bring the city to a standstill to build up a few egos. The true Hero is behind bars.

No need to celebrate the victory day as the victor and the loser are the citizen of this country. We shall celebrate this day as a day of 'Reconciliation' and call all the citizen of the country to unite behind one flag without promoting animocity among different people. The politicians must stop capitalising on everything and they must think of the welfare of the people and country before everything.

    Wednesday, 16 June 2010 12:20 PM

The man who brought victory is in the dark. Actually we should not celebrate this so called victory day. It will only remind us the bitter past and hatred among people. War is history, must make sure there should never be another war.

This is a 'tamasha' to maintain the popularity.

Not interested. If they are trying to stage 'Hamlet' without the
Prince of Denmark, count me out!
