This sentence is an encouragement to more foreign thieves to come to sri lanka and gamble on theft. if caught you go home with a small fine. if not caught you go home with the loot!!

I wonder how many precious stones are being smuggled out of the country this way by the Chinese. However they would make good use of their stay in the country before we could even realize.

Suspended sentence? Does that mean he should stay in Sri Lanka for two years or he can go to his country scot-free. Obviously, Chinese nationals are given preference in this country what with Rs. 10.- fines for loitering Chinese women.

The name "Chinaman" is considered offensive--it behoves you to watch your language, and let the readers take care of the insults.

From the court sentence you could develop another " Game Theory"
