Supreme Court should be abolished. Speaker can handle all matters without advice from SC.

Good expolanation. Speaker knows this too; but he just trying to justify all the recent thuggery against the country's judicial system. Anyway he is also one of the brotheres... what better thing can u expect from him.
Sadun Wednesday, 10 October 2012 04:33 AM
Dear speaker, do you want yourselves to open the door and sign the delivery note of the delivery messenger? Doesn’t it degrade your status. Just leave the document handling to the SCG of Parliament and do some worthwhile things to the country pls.
R.Sunthar Wednesday, 10 October 2012 04:26 AM
Is it the "kill the messenger"phenomenon.
prasad Wednesday, 10 October 2012 03:49 AM

Divi Neguma bill is for the sole benefit of the people in power both in the Central Government and the Provinces and to tighten the screws further on the common man
Calistus Jayatilleke Tuesday, 09 October 2012 11:56 AM
Just looking for an excuse to sideline the Judiciary and pass the Bill with the government's steamroller majority where Pabas and Babas will raise both hands without even knowing what the Bill is for.

Who is the Secretary General? Secretary General is the Administrative Head of the Political Speaker. When the Speaker is the Political Head of the Parliament, the Secretary General is the Administrative Head of the Parliament. The SG functions under the Speaker and the Speaker is his Boss. SG implements the decisions taken by his Boss, who is the Head of the Institution called Parliament. Whatever is sent to him is, in effect, sent to the Speaker. The Constitution recognises the SG as the Speaker's Agent. Therefore, there is no violation of the Constitution if a document is sent to SG to be submitted to the Speaker. This is just to find fault with the Judiciary, because they want to fault it!
Surain Tuesday, 09 October 2012 10:36 AM
oh now trying to find fault with judiciary come on speaker we all are adults
Junior Citizen Tuesday, 09 October 2012 10:33 AM
even the judiciary is not above rules-the ruling has to go to speaker directly
Kautilya Tuesday, 09 October 2012 10:13 AM
Public came to know of the Supreme Court decision because it was sent to DG of parliament. If it was sent to the Speaker it wouldn,t have seen the light of the day because the SC decision was against the Devi Naguma Bill.
bigsam Tuesday, 09 October 2012 09:40 AM
Yes, big deal that it was communicated to Gen Sec and not you. Just get on and do something worthwhile please without finding small technical faults.

Deen Tuesday, 09 October 2012 09:37 AM
The Speaker and the Secretary General of Parliament are on the same floor of the Parliament building. May be the messenger would have thought the Secretary General would pass on the message to the Speaker.

Why this comment comes after such a long period?
Is this also a reason why the secretary was manhandled?
