A letter, signed by more than 60 UPFA MPs calling for the appointment of the MP Dinesh Gunawardena as the Opposition Leader of Parliament replacing Nimal Siripala de Silva, has been handed over to Speaker Chamal Rajapaksa this afternoon.

These MPs claimed that the post should be handed over to an ally of the UPFA, since some SLFP Parliamentarians had accepted Ministerial portfolios in the government.

This person is the eldest son of a great politician Mr Philip Gunawardena. Also if he is appointed it will be more weight for MR for his campaign in the forthcoming parliamentary election.

This country will never come out of racism. There is a good probability that most of these 60 MPs wanted Dinesh, just because he is a Sinhalese and they do not want TNA to be the opposition party. God save this country.
