Sri Lankan fast bowler Farveez Maharoof took a hat-rick against India during the Asia cup match in Dambulla today. His first victim was Ravindra Jadeja followed by Praveen Kumar and Zaheer Khan.

Maha is a bowling all rounder, he rarely score high even in club matches, so best for him is while concentrating mostly on bowling give some attention to batting. He used to bowl in mid 130's earlier if I am not mistaken. If we can have 2 world class allrounders it will be great. Even 3 who knows as Suraj can bat. Now there will be pressure on the top 4 batters as well when Mathews and Dinesh is in good touch. Mathews used to bowl much faster than this, may be Maha and Mathews should be sent to Fast Bowling academy in India for a stint to polish their bowling.

I remember saying earlier that Mahroof will bounce back from that bashing he got from Afridi-he is that good a bowler. Sri Lanka played very well again to win this match too. But I must warn Sanga not to take Dhoni and his bunch lightly. They are a fantastic team and will come back with a vengeance in the final. They have a score to settle. So, look out Sanga and the boys-play good.

I'm afraid whether this performance will affect the final.... bcoz i can remember last time in a triangular match before the final, we defeated India convincingly like this. But India came very strong in the finals and went with the trophy.

Well done, you have justified your selection. However, it's still early days. Should not be an one time show. Consistency is what's required. Also, need to improve your batting to the level of Angelo Mathews. More hard work is required.

It is great if Sri Lanka can have Both Mathews and Maharoof in their final eleven. Mathews is a batsman who can bowl and maharoof is a bowler who can bat. We need at least 2 allrounders so we can get someone to bowl some overs if one of the regular bowlers has a bad day.

Also if Uncle returns then we have 3 allrounders. But nowadays uncle cant bat nor he cant bowl.
