In all other countries people who bring in commercial quantities of merchandise are told to pay the relevant import duties and take away the goods. I don't know why they have to make such a hue and cry each time someone brings a kg of gold or a bag of sarongs, and portray the customs officers, all over the media as heroes who saved our country from a demon.

Why gold is more restriction. Gems are allowed without duty. Because getting more jobs opportunities. Gold also as same & standerd price like metal.
