This shows one thing. GOSL has no time to develop the country. They spend their 365 days to crush the opposition by hook or crook. No wonder we become poorer day by day

    Thursday, 25 February 2010 10:56 AM

Of course Nimal. Innocent people are held captive to fulfill stupid whims & fancies of politicos. They must sue the GOSL for billions of Rs. for the mental agony they underwent.

    Thursday, 25 February 2010 11:15 AM

Dont worry about claiming damages. The damage is already done. Let the gods sort the MR outfit out.

    Thursday, 25 February 2010 11:23 AM

Chief Magistrate should take strong measures against revenge strategy of the government and the CID henchmen.

    Thursday, 25 February 2010 12:02 PM

Good move and good judgement Sir. But what action against MR & Bros. who suspected these maids. Beg you to release SF, that's all we need.

    Thursday, 25 February 2010 12:04 PM

Good judgement... its fair. We appreciate your wise decision. why not SF in the same manner and take appropriate action against the nutty complainers.

    Thursday, 25 February 2010 12:05 PM

why don't you release their boss also ?

    Thursday, 25 February 2010 12:13 PM

I think the Generl has planned his coup on his own. what a Joke and Sri Lanka has enough morans to beleive this as well.

    Thursday, 25 February 2010 12:15 PM

first of all no one should be arrested. they rare just making up lies to show his a bad man. what a country. talking about corruption!

    Thursday, 25 February 2010 10:50 AM

They are out, but not safe!

    Thursday, 25 February 2010 12:56 PM

    Surprise, Surprise!
I thought our judiciary was also in the pocket of GOSL and I am sure GOSL will have its way to manage the judiciary soon.

    Thursday, 25 February 2010 01:03 PM

WHAT ARE YOU SMOKING GUY'S! DON'T PUT THE CART BEFORE THE BULL!!!

    Thursday, 25 February 2010 11:25 PM

Louisa! What have you got to say?

    Friday, 26 February 2010 04:10 AM

I wish there is a system exist in SL where citizens can sue the Gov't.

    Friday, 26 February 2010 04:12 AM

Actually these guys are safe inside than out side.

    Friday, 26 February 2010 04:17 AM

Now it is almost one month, i.e. 30 days, since General was forcibly taken into custody by this Government on a flimsy charge of plotting a coup. With him a number of his staff, ex army personnel, assisting him in his party office were also arrested. as far as reports go almost all his staff who were arrested had been released as there is no evidence of plotting a coup ?!. So, why General, the war hero of the country is still kept in custody? This is plain revenge. Why is the Maha Sangha also silent on this issue?

    Friday, 26 February 2010 04:22 AM

released without charges???? this, the Govt. already knew at the time of arrest, but then why the hell did GOSL arrest them???? Govt has hood winked all Sri Lankans, International pressure has forced Lankan Govt to honor the Law and not the Law of the jungle

    Friday, 26 February 2010 05:22 AM

Judge to act impartially, otherwise reputation will tarnish in Sri-Lanka. These politicians are in power for 6 year terms but in particular MR regime spoils our country image without respecting to democracy. Do think to change the name of the country?

    Thursday, 25 February 2010 09:08 AM

SF also will be realised soon as he is contesting against Ranil in colombo. this is what the govt wants.

    Thursday, 25 February 2010 08:29 AM

Govt has lost its face....trying to live the day with lies and stories for the ignorant.... Shame....
GEN SIR...YOUR DAY IS COMING SOON TO LEAD US OUT FROM THIS MISERY....

    Thursday, 25 February 2010 08:39 AM

Now who is the loser! ?

    Thursday, 25 February 2010 08:47 AM

So all are released and SF is arrested he tried to coup alone ? is he batman ? spiderman ? Heman ? nice fairy tale government and CID we have ... this clearly tell us who guided for war victory ...

    Thursday, 25 February 2010 08:48 AM

This is the truth applicable to everybody. wait for justice soon.

    Thursday, 25 February 2010 08:51 AM

These aides should sue the GOSL for billions of Rs. When the General is fin ally released, for lack of evidence, he should do so, too.

    Thursday, 25 February 2010 08:59 AM

    Arrest Fail

    Thursday, 25 February 2010 09:06 AM

The whole conpiracy is to burry the election frauds. SF will be released soon too.! God will see and punish responsible people!

    Thursday, 25 February 2010 09:07 AM

What a joke, jokers!!! cant' even a make a case.

    Thursday, 25 February 2010 08:21 AM

Same theory will apply to SF too. So better to release him without taking revange.

    Thursday, 25 February 2010 09:44 AM

Why are so many taken in and then released because of the absence of evidence. The same is also true of SF - there is still no proof - and in a legal sense he is innocent until proven guilty.

    Thursday, 25 February 2010 09:50 AM

What a shameless CID we have bootlicking anyone in power at the be4hest of that lackey the IGP.

    Thursday, 25 February 2010 09:53 AM

Thanks for the Hon. Judge for releasing SF aides.
I would like to ask the Cabinet Ministers who ROBED THE CEYLINCO INSURANCE.And where the Money went???????

    Thursday, 25 February 2010 10:05 AM

Shows how equally the rights of the people in Sri Lanka distributed to support their political views.

    Thursday, 25 February 2010 10:08 AM

good lord - at least if they are doing it they need to have some FRAMED evidence - how stupid is this

    Thursday, 25 February 2010 10:21 AM

    Sue for dollars U.S.!

    Thursday, 25 February 2010 10:27 AM

yes,we belive the lawyers will take necessary step to sue the culprits very soon!

    Thursday, 25 February 2010 10:39 AM

why were they arrested in the first place with these lack of evidence?
