Customs officers at the Bandaranaike International Airport today detained two Chinese nationals who tried to smuggle foreign currency worth of Rs. 9 million to China via Hon Kong, Customs Superintendent Parakrama Basnayake told Daily Mirror online
The two suspects had planned to travel to China in a Hong Kong-bound flight today, Customs officials said.
The currency which was hidden inside the luggage of the two suspects has an estimated worth of Rs. 9 million consisting of US Dollars, Chinese Yuans and other currencies.
Customs officers at he BIA are conducting further inquires. (Daily Mirror online)

In China, these currency smugglers would have been sentenced to death. But I am sure these Chinese will get the Presidential pardon from MR for their sacrifices at Hambantota Harbour.
