Intelligence officers at the Bandaranaike International Air Port yesterday alerted about a possible attempt by two important political figures and a one-time terrorist leader to flee the country after the new President assumes duties, informed sources said.

Sources said that the numbers of three vehicles that were to be allegedly used by these three men had been provided to intelligence officials.

There are no cases against them, so how can police/immigration stop them leaving the country? MR has presidential immunity (if I am not mistataken as per the constitution). So he will remain in the country without fear. So bring on the legal cases against these guys soon or do something using the executive powers.

He escaped NOT via Katunayake but using an Airforce plane that took off from elsewhere,. the Pilot of that plane is NOT a Patriot, he should have flown for a while and returned back citing engine failure. This coward fled for the second time.. Issue an interpol warrant on Gota and get him down. Reinstate the OIC of Wanduramba with a double promotion... demote the pilot to a just an entry level officer and do NOT give him flying hours...!
