Queen Elizabeth greets SL on Independence Day

Britain’s Queen Elizabeth II has extended her best wishes to the people of Sri Lanka who are celebrating the Independence Day tomorrow.

The Queen’s message was released in all three languages by the British High Commission in Colombo today.  

The message:

“It gives me great pleasure to send Your Excellency Maithripala Sirisena my congratulations on the celebration of your National Day, together with my best wishes for the good fortune and happiness of the people of Sri Lanka in the coming year.” - Elizabeth R
