The Maligakanda Magistrate ordered to detain four suspects, arrested over smuggling mobile phones and several other items into the Colombo Magazine Prison, for 7 days, the Police said.
The Borella Police initially recovered a suspicious parcel near the Colombo prison's wall on Friday morning.
The police found a mobile phone, a mobile charger and several narcotics substances including 11.5 grams of heroin upon the inspection of the parcel.
Following the further investigation, the police arrested four suspects on Friday evening at Seevali Pura, Borella on possession of 9 grams of heroin.
Further interrogation of the suspects, the police recovered several items including 3 mobile phones, 119 batteries, 21 mobile chargers, medicines and various narcotics substances which the suspects were planing to handed over to the inmates.
The suspects, aged between 28 and 42 identified as residents of Borella. They would be detained till July 2 for further interrogation.
