Sri Lanka former national cricket team's ca[taom T.M. Dilshan yesterday praised President Maithripala Sirisena’s decision to implement the death sentence for drug traffickers.

He said this decision should have been taken a long time ago. “Not only for drugs, it should be implemented for child abuse and rape cases,” he said.

Dilshan said all citizens should unite to develop the country.

“There is no purpose in safeguarding human rights if we cannot save the country. Cases of drugs use and child abuse has increased at an alarming rate today. So is is essential to carry out the death sentence,” he said and added that if our children are not protected and safeguarded our country would be left without a future for the generations to come. Looks like Dilshan is eyeing for a Cricket Board position or politican appointments that are scientifically by MS!!!

The did once have the death sentence, Problem was still there. Innocent got convicted. While politicians peddled in drug trafficking. We Need strong Law enforcement. Not this slogan.

we need death penalty for drug traffickers for the sake of our young generation. We do not need walking dead on our roads

We need more positive comments like from Dilshan on this very topic. Let the cry of YES be more louder than the cry of NO.

Then wait until your enemies hide 1 kg of heroin in your house or car

    Sambo Sunday, 15 July 2018 02:31 PM

If this county is to re build itself then we need the death penalty. Those opposing it are the main rascals including the might politicians. No point in having commissions because the truth never comes out.

Dilshan, we are glad that you are with us but our president will never hang anyone and at last we will be definitely disappointed, that's for sure.

    Sunil Sunday, 15 July 2018 08:45 PM

In the midst of all the positive comments on Dilshan's praiseworthy viewpoints there has to be one stick in the mud who tries to drag him down with totally uncalled for remarks. Is this ignorance or apathy?

    Ananda Monday, 16 July 2018 05:56 AM

This support for the death penalty from Dilshan is more than amazing, particularly since he was accused of raping a woman in Zimbabwe and couldn't enter the country.Sauce for the goose....???!!!
