The Principal of Southlands Girls' School in Galle has informed the police not to investigate the complaint she lodged against Southern Province Governor Keerthi Thennakoon, Police Spokesman SP Ruwan Gunasekera said yesterday.
He said the Principal had earlier complained to the Galle Police that Governor Thennakoon allegedly threatened her and her husband for not enrolling fours students to school. For the same reason, a group of parents had launched a ‘Satyagraha’ outside the school a few weeks back.
It is said that the governor had requested the Principal to enrol these students on many occasions but to no avail.
“On one occasion, the governor sent a police officer to my house. Since I was not there, the governor had threatened my husband over the phone of the police officer. On another occasion, a cop was sent to threaten me in the same manner. I also informed a parliamentary oversight committee about these incidents,” she said.(Darshana Sanjeewa)

If any officer has done something wrong there is an accepted way of rectifying it. This fool of a governor is worse than a bull in china shop.
