The Government has decided to assign 5,000 Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) buses and 400 trains for the transportation from Monday, Transport Minister Mahinda Amaraweera said.
He said the decision was taken to facilitate the employees to reach the employment institutions.
"However, the government has decided to call for 50 per cent of state and private-sector employees for work at low risk areas while 20 per cent of employees would be permitted to return to work in high-risk areas under the first phase," he said.
He said public transport facilities would be provided according to the directions of the health sector officials.
He also advised the employment institutions to provide sanitizers and face masks for the safety of the employees. (Chaturanga Samarawickrama)
